  Founded in 2011, The Civil War Monitor magazine is a quarterly publication that offers a fresh view of America’s greatest conflict through the contributions and commentary of the country’s leading historians, researchers, and authors. In every issue, readers will find a mix of originally researched articles, rare historical images, comprehensive maps, and modern graphics—all geared toward the interests of modern-day Civil War enthusiasts.

  At our website, we offer not only the digital versions of the print magazine, but also unique, digital-only content, including comprehensive weekly book reviews and bimonthly digital history columns, plus photo essays, best books lists, and much more.

   

• What do I get if I subscribe?

  Print Only subscribers receive our quarterly print magazine delivered to their door. Digital Only subscribers have complete access to our website—including our digital issues and digital back issue archive, plus unique articles and posts. All Access subscribers receive all of the above at a discounted rate—it’s our best deal.

   

• How do I access the website if I’m a subscriber?

  It’s easy. Simply visit the Login page, where you’ll be asked to enter your username and password.

   

• Why am I blocked from reading some Civil War Monitor posts?

  If you’re a current All Access or Digital Only subscriber and you are being blocked from viewing a post, it likely means you are not logged in. Do so here. Non-subscribers are allowed to read one free post a month. Those with a free-tier account can access 1 additional premium article per month. You can register for a free account here. After that limit is reached, you will need to subscribe (All Access or Digital Only) for further website access.

   

• What is the difference between the All Access and Digital Only subscription options?

  Digital Only subscribers get complete access to our website—including our digital issues and digital back issue archive, plus all unique digital articles and posts. All Access subscribers receive that plus home delivery of the quarterly print magazine.

   

• Can I only subscribe to the print magazine?

  Yes! Print Only subscribers receive our quarterly print magazine, delivered to their home. Note that a Print Only subscription does not include access to content on the Monitor website.

   

• When will my magazine be delivered?

  Your first print issue usually arrives in 4-8 weeks. Ship times can vary due to when your order is placed within the publication cycle. Please note that The Civil War Monitor publishes 4 times a year: Feb/Mar, May/Jun, Aug/Sept, Nov/Dec. The digital version of the magazine is available around the time the print issue mails. All Access and Digital Only subscribers are alerted via email when a new digital issue is live at our website.

   

• Can I subscribe if I live outside the U.S.?

  Yes! Note that payment for all non-U.S. subscriptions must be made in U.S. funds, and that—for All Access and Print Only subscriptions—a surcharge ($10 for Canadian and $20 for overseas) will be added to the prices listed above.

   

• I can’t remember my password. What do I do?

  Go to the Login page and click “Lost Password?” You’ll be asked to enter your email address to get a new password sent to you.

   

• Can I upgrade my Digital Only or Print Only subscription to All Access?
