An Interview with Megan Kate Nelson and Kevin Levin

Our conversation with Megan Kate Nelson (Visiting Assistant Professor of History, Brown University) and Kevin Levin (Instructor, Gann Academy) on their most recent project—co-editing a special issue of Common-Place entitled “The Civil War at 150: Memory and Meaning.” In this interview, Megan and Kevin discuss the process behind editing such a project and the various risks and rewards inherent in such a venture. In addition, Megan and Kevin offer their thoughts on the state of Civil War memory as a field and how this issue will further the debate.
