An Interview with Brian Craig Miller (2015)

Our Conversation with Brian Craig Miller, an Associate Professor of history at Emporia State University and recent author of “Empty Sleeves: Amputation in the Civil War South,” now out with the University of Georgia Press. In this conversation Dr. Miller tries to tackle and debunk some of the myths surrounding Civil War amputation. In addition, he also speaks to the lives of those forever altered by the loss of a limb, as well as those at home who also had to adjust to the new realities.
